As the Principal Interior Designer of Koastal Design Group, Kira Krümm has built an exceptional design firm with an extensive emphasis on innovation, integrity and client satisfaction. Her contemporaries regard her as a visionary and a virtuoso, while her clients praise her creative passion and consistent professionalism. Yet always, it is Ms. Krümm’s unforgettable interior designs that form the foundation of her business, revealing her artistic background and international influences by beautifully balancing the elegant and ethereal.


Ms. Krümm’s devotion to design began as a young art student in high school. She attended the Governor’s Magnet School for the Arts at Old Dominion University in Virginia. She also participated in a fine arts gifted program at the Rhode Island School of Design. Ms. Krümm later earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts with an interior design major from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). During that time, she presided as the Senator for the School of the Arts on the Student Senate Executive Board and acted as President of the Fine Arts Council.

After receiving a prestigious World Study Scholar award from her university Ms. Krümm continued her studies of interior design, furniture design and architectural photography at the American College in London.

Immediately after college, Ms. Krümm quickly began establishing a reputation for excellence as the owner of a prosperous interior design company in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Designing upscale residential and commercial projects, including several of the area’s most fashionable and successful restaurants, while earning an array of awards for her work. In 2000, she relocated to Naples, FL, and soon established her highly regarded firm Kira Krümm Interior Design at International Design Source in the Trade Center Area. In 2008, she selected the Miromar Design Center, as the new location for her unique, full-service design studio. Ms. Krümm continues to evolve artistically and professionally, unveiling her new company name, Koastal Design Group – Kira Krümm & Company, and her current studio location in Downtown Naples in Fall 2017.


With nearly 30 years of experience as owner of her firm, Ms. Krümm’s extensive list of accomplishments has secured her a spot among Florida’s most influential interior designers. Ms. Krümm has been the recipient of more than 50 industry honors for design excellence. Her work has been celebrated in countless design publications around the globe and she has written extensive design columns for various periodicals.

Ms. Krümm has been elected to sit on the Advisory Board panels for elite design publications such as Gulfshore Life’s annual At Home magazine, and Interiors South Florida magazine by Modern Luxury, the Nation’s largest luxury publisher.


Ms. Krümm’s national notoriety is rivaled only by her growing global acclaim. She wrote of her experiences traveling global markets to bring readers “behind the scenes” of the interior design industry. Her work was featured on the cover of the book Modern Interior Design, The American Collection, which was published in China in two languages in 2009. Her work appeared among many other leading design publications throughout China where she served as a contributing editor and guest International Designer.

This expansion into the overseas market is personally appealing to Ms. Krümm, as it complements her lifelong love of travel and international design. She has resided in London and Florence and traveled extensively throughout Asia, Europe, North and South America, and the Caribbean bringing international inspiration to her work in Southwest Florida.

Honing on her innate entrepreneurial spirit, Ms. Krümm’s experiences abroad have inspired multiple art-related international business ventures involving her signature product line, the Kira Krümm Koastal Kollection, which includes luxury fine furnishings, fabrics and home décor for coastal lifestyles. Ms. Krümm’s international travels have enhanced her creative perspective enabling her to develop a distinct brand aesthetic.


In 2008 and 2009 Ms. Krümm unveiled her unique signature Koastal Kollection at the Miromar Design Center when she was selected to participate in their annual Designer Showcases exhibitions. These award-winning Showcases (link to press, illustrated Ms. Krümm’s distinct design aesthetic and secured her position as an innovator at the forefront of Florida’s growing luxury interior design industry.

Ms. Krümm has developed her brand internationally, with special focus on her luxury bedding line which has garnered extensive interest worldwide. In March 2013, Ms. Krümm launched an exclusive bedding collection for the Chinese luxury market. The same year, Ms. Krümm and her husband launched their fine art gallery, Studio International, in which they represented renowned fine artists from the Americas in in Shanghai and Beijing’s top art markets and exclusive galleries.


In addition to her affiliation with many national and international trade organizations, Ms. Krümm has supported several regional fine arts and community organizations such as Artis–Naples and the Marco Island Foundation for the Arts. As the Foundation’s former Vice President and Visual Arts Chairman, Ms. Krümm acted as the Chairman of the Selection Committee for Art Quest, the first public sculpture exhibition on Marco Island. Ms. Krümm was appointed a member of the Marco Island City Arts Advisory Committee and actively planned an annual arts festival for the City of Marco Island in 2011. Also in 2011, the Marco Island Academy invited Ms. Krümm to join a select panel of community leaders on the newly established advanced learning academy’s 2011-2012 National Advisory Board. Ms. Krümm proudly supported the Stay in May Festival (formerly ArtsNaples) which produced unique international cultural arts events throughout Southwest Florida.

As an accomplished designer, Ms. Krümm continues her dedication to the arts and her community through contributions to various local organizations that work to create meaningful impact in our community through education, empowerment, and enrichment programs.
